ACTIVITY BASED COSTING

Definisi :

Suatu system akuntansi yang berfokus pada aktivitas-aktivitas yang dilakukan untuk menghasilkan produk dan jasa

Intinya :

Bagaimana mengalokasikan BOP sebagai komponen harga pokok produksi kepada produk dengan adil dan tepat berdasarkan aktivitasnya.

Aktivitas (activity) à setiap kejadian atau transaksi yang  merupakan pemicu biaya

Pemicu biaya (cost driver) à factor penyebab (causal factor) dari biaya dikeluarkan

Dalam ABC, harus dilakukan penelitian aktivitas apa saja yang dilakukan untuk memproduksi produk. Ketelitian penemuan aktivitas akan menyebabkan ketelitian perhitungan harga pokok produk.

Dasar aktivitas yang dipakai biasanya berkaitan dengan volume (volume-related activity base) seperti ekuivalen unit, jam kerja langsung atau jam mesin langsung

ABC à

Memakai pemicu biaya dasar unit maupun non unit, yang jumlah pemicu biayanya lebih besar ketimbang jumlah pemicu pada system tradisional, sehingga meningkatkan akurasi penentuan biaya pokok produk.

KAPAN HARUS ABC ?

Perusahan-perusahaan yang layak memakai ABC jika memenuhi syarat-syarat :

1.            Perusahaan yang padat modal (banyak gunakan mesin)

2.            Perusahaan yang memiliki difersifikasi produk

3.            Difersifikasi produk dan menggunakan fasilitas yang sama

4.            Setiap produknya memiliki proses produksi yang berbeda.

Aktivitas yang sering muncul :

• Pengesetan mesin produksi à aktivitas penyiapan mesin-mesin pabrik untuk membuat produk baru (setiap pesanan pelanggan baru memerlukan pengesetan)
• Inspeksi kendali mutu à aktivitas penginsepkesian produk agara sesuai dengan spesifikasi-spesifikasi yang ditetapkan.
• Perubahan rekayasa à aktivitas pemrosesan perubahan-perubahan design atau spesifikasi proses sebuah produk

Tahap-tahap system ABC

1. Menelusuri atau mengalokasikan biaya-biaya ke aktivitas-aktivitas à kumpulan biaya aktivitas
2. Kumpulan biaya aktivitas diatas, dibebankan ke produk-produk, dengan memakai pemicu biaya
